I was commissioned to create a series of lifestyle images and video clips of Hurtta UK’s spring/summer 2023 product range. the products included their Life Saviour ECO dog buoyancy aid, a variety of harnesses, collars and leads, as well as their Training Vest for humans.
While Hurtta itself is a Finnish brand, Hurtta UK wanted imagery that depicted more quintessentially British landscapes and canine friendly activities. Therefore I centred the project around three main pursuits; dog friendly paddle boarding, agility and gundog training. I worked with a range of models, including spaniels, setters, labrador retrievers and pointers. Together we created a collection of activity specific photography and video clips that the client can use across their digital and print marketing materials.
The human models featured in this project are all real life owners of the dogs they are depicted with. I think this is particularly important, as not only does it help the dog model feel at ease, it also results in more genuine, authentic moments. It also aides my personal mission of my photography. Helping the pet industry improve its realism and representation, through candid imagery that consumers can relate to with their own animals.
