Have you been on a disappointing walk recently? Wh Have you been on a disappointing walk recently? Where did you go? 😬
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We took at trip to Fernworthy Forest for our first hike after lockdown. We'd visited briefly before in the winter but the light faded so fast we didn't have time to walk around the whole reservoir 🌌
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This time, we made sure we had daylight on our side and set off to complete the circular walk. However, either the path has been diverted (potentially due to ground nesting birds?) or we went off piste on our first visit. Either way, we were deflated to find a large portion of our walk was set back from the water's edge and at some points we were walking along the road. Coupled with the baltic winds (note it was definitely NOT shorts weather!) it's safe to say it wasn't one of our favourite adventures 🙈
A year after purchasing our first bouldering mat, A year after purchasing our first bouldering mat, we’ve finally made it out properly to the rock! 🧗‍♀️

Of course we chose the windiest day ever and all the routes we tried were completely exposed. After this move I couldn’t feel my fingers at all, panicked and fell off 🤦‍♀️

After a quick consolation sandwich, spaniel snuggle and a minor strop, I decided to persevere and ending up completing another route. The first time I’ve ever completed a bouldering problem outdoors 🥳

Was it the hardest problem in the world? Not by any stretch of the imagination. Was it even in the guidebook? I’ll get back to you on that one! I ended my day on a high though and that’s all that counts. I’m really excited to come back to Bonehill Rocks again and again, there’s a really nice mix of problems to work through, no matter how long (or not long!) you’ve been climbing ⛰
Does anyone know of any social netball leagues in Does anyone know of any social netball leagues in and around Plymouth? I used to play in a lovely social weekday evening league when I lived in London but have always struggled to find something similar in the south west. I'd love to get back into playing, especially now outdoor sports are allowed to take place again ⛹️‍♀️

What a year it's been. 12 months ago I was filled What a year it's been. 12 months ago I was filled with panic, The Favourite Human was overseas and I was very worried about what a 'national lockdown' might ensue. I'd only lived in Plymouth for a matter of weeks and my family were all the way in London. I actually went to stay with The Favourite Human's family for a few days before the official announcement was made because I couldn't handle it all emotionally. Panic buying was in full swing and the majority of my freelance clients pulled out overnight. I really didn't know what to do 😩

I was so grateful for @tobyandalexanderdogrobes who, despite the lockdown announcement the night before decided to proceed with their photography project. Sara-Jane was so understanding and gave me focus and familiarity while I was trying to navigate the initial stages of lockdown alone, in a flat with two spaniels! 🐾

Fast forward 12 months, I've managed to rebuild my business. I am so grateful for all the wonderful clients I now work with. Unfortunately the virus itself is uncomfortably close to home at the moment but I remain hopeful 😷

As the world is set to reopen and continue recovering from this mess, I’ve been taking a moment to reflect upon the physical, mental and emotional turmoil this last year has been before the history books tarnish this time as a triumphant victory over the virus. It’s by no means been easy but I am fully aware it could have been far worse. My heartfelt condolences go out to everyone who have lost loved ones to this awful pandemic! 💔

I absolutely loved working with @pawsitivethinkinguk recently, photographing their natural treats and dog deli for their website. Woody and Hen were delighted when the box of treats arrived for the project and were very patient while I photographed all the products. They were even happy to share them with dog models @a_cockapoo_named_archie and @jasperthesprocker 📸🐶🦴

DOGSCLOSURE: @pawsitivethinkinguk are one of my photography clients. I purchased my @westpawus Toppl myself but the sprats were sent to us as part of the project 🦈

What a day it’s been! 6 hours of continuous drilling from downstairs was the soundtrack to my work day today, which I was obviously thrilled about... 🙄

However, we did manage to get outdoors before dusk this evening, which was lovely. There’s lots of work to do @tide_climbing before we’re allowed to reopen again but it was lovely to make it out to the beach for a game of fetch at sunset 🌅

What’s the weirdest/funniest thing you’ve experienced while working from home through lockdown? I’m sure there must be some pretty interesting stories!👩‍💻
